Happy 40th Birthday Jalen Rose! Rose was a part of one of the greatest teams in college basketball history: the Michigan Fab Five (if you haven’t seen the ESPN Fab Five documentary, do yourself a favour and watch it immediately). Michigan is again making headlines this year as they were anointed as the number one team in the NCAA Rankings on Monday. Meanwhile, Rose has risen to new popularity as an NBA analyst telling stories like the time he had to buy condoms for Dikembe Mutumbo.

Happy Anniversary Kevin Dyson!

On this day 13 years ago, Dyson came one yard away from sending Super Bowl XXXIV to overtime. In one of the most famous plays in sports history, Steve McNair completed a pass to Dyson with time running out and looked for a moment that he would score. However, St. Louis Rams linebacker Mike Jones tackled Dyson as he stretched the ball just inches short of the goal line while time ran out to preserve the 23-16 victory for the Rams.

Happy Trails Rajon Rondo!

Rondo suffered a torn ACL this past Friday against the Atlanta Hawks and will miss the rest of this season and possibly a large portion of next season. Rondo was voted to be a starter in the upcoming NBA All-Star game but will obviously have to sit it out now. As of the writing of this column, it is unclear who will replace Rondo on the East All-Star. My best guess is that one of the Brooklyn Nets (Deron Williams or Brook Lopez) will replace his roster spot while his starting role should be taken by either Kyrie Irving or Jrue Holliday.
